Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton commended the religious communities for addressing social and humanitarian issues after an event that brought representatives of 14 various religious faiths to meet with six senators at the U.S. Capitol Sept. 25.
In a 15-day period, nearly 300 chaplains from eight nations in the Seventh-day Adventist Church's Southern Asia-Pacific region gathered for communications and crisis counseling training, a first for the church region.
"Sabbath School isn't an institution," says Seventh-day Adventist Church world president Jan Paulsen. "It's an experience."
The largest event ever organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Peru, "Caravana del Poder," or "Caravan of Power," ended Sept. 20. Some 100,000 people attended this evangelistic effort, held in 17 locations in Puno.
They've been called "unique," "innocent," and "uplifting." The so-called "promise cards," designed to pop open, revealing a Bible text or inspirational thought, are used all over the world.
Church planting in Europe--a society largely viewed as "post-Christian"--is taking a leap forward, participants in the recent "Euro-Seeds 2" church planting conference said.
